Glossary of Terms

Scape  
The stem and flower head produced by hardneck (bolting) garlics.
Remove the scape when it has emerged sufficiently to begin curling over. This will help to increase the bulb size of your garlic.

Clove
The individual segment of the garlic bulb, enclosed in its own protective skin.
Planting one clove will produce a full bulb at harvest time, under reasonable growing conditions.
