Also known as Monaro Purple and the earliest Turban Group garlic to harvest in our collection. The tale of the origin of this cultivar is that it was introduced to Australia from Europe by Yugoslavians working on the Snowy River Hydro Scheme, over 70 years ago.
Beautiful purple skins, good rich flavour and plenty of heat. Creamy and nutty when roasted.
Can be stored for up to 6 months.
Remove scape to increase bulb size? Yes, if present.
